Current Opportunities
Estimator
An Estimator is responsible for analyzing construction documents and determining the appropriate mix of materials and services required for projects.
Essential job functions include transferring pertinent information from door schedules, floor plans and specifications into Kelley Bros’ internal estimating software program; interacting with suppliers for pricing; and compiling bid forms for customers based on scope. Additional responsibilities may include lead generation, assessment of bid opportunities, maintenance of bid calendar, and bid follow-up.
The Estimator position is full-time and suitable for applicants with varying levels of experience within commercial construction. Aptitude with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is an important qualification.
Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager
A Project Engineer is primarily responsible for aiding the sales team to ensure a successful, timely and cost-effective completion of commercial construction projects. The Project Engineer functions as an Assistant to the Senior Project Manager(s), focusing on daily management and supervision of all project deliverables.
Essential job functions include preparation and review of project documentation (subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, submittal packages); tracking material deliveries; communication with project site contacts for coordination of material deliveries; familiarity with internal scheduling and detailing software programs; and participation in and contribution to internal meetings focused on continuous improvement.
The Project Engineer position is full-time and suitable for new entrants into the commercial construction industry. Aptitude with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is an important qualification. Career advancement to Senior Project Manager is achievable based on performance.
Senior Project Manager
A Senior Project Manager is responsible for running commercial construction projects from the time a job is booked through the closeout phase. A Senior Project Manager may be assisted by a Project Engineer, but is capable of managing projects independently.
Essential job functions include preparation and review of project documentation (subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, submittal packages); tracking material deliveries; communication with project site contacts for coordination of material deliveries; familiarity with internal scheduling and detailing software programs; and participation in and contribution to internal meetings focused on continuous improvement.
A Senior Project Manager interfaces directly with customers and suppliers, and is expected to react expeditiously to jobsite issues.
Depending on the needs of a specific branch office, a Senior Project Manager may also be tasked with Estimating.
The Senior Project Manager position is full-time and suitable for applicants with a background in commercial construction. Aptitude with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is an important qualification.
Office Administrator
The Office Administrator position is a multi-function support role. An Office Administrator assists the Sales and Operations teams in various ways.
Essential job functions include organizing and maintaining project documents in accordance with Company standard operating procedures; tracking shipments; and managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. A comprehensive understanding of the sales process is important, as an Office Administrator serves as the conduit between the Warehouse and Sales functions within a branch office.
The Office Administrator position is full-time and suitable for applicants with some or no commercial construction experience. Aptitude with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is an important qualification.
Shipping & Receiving
There are various warehouse opportunities available at Kelley Bros. The most traditional role is Shipper/Receiver. A Shipper/Receiver is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing material for construction projects.
Essential job functions include taking possession of inbound deliveries; inspecting and tagging product by opening; “receiving” material in internal company software; and interfacing with Office Administrator and Sales team to ensure paperwork is maintained in accordance with Company standard operating procedures. When the project jobsite is ready to accept stored material, a Shipper/Receiver schedules delivery (either driving a Company vehicle or arranging for shipment through a 3rd party) and collects signed delivery tickets from customers.
Depending on the aptitude of a Shipper/Receiver and needs of the hiring branch office, additional responsibilities may include welding, shop-applying hardware to doors, field-installing openings, and keying cores.
The Shipper/Receiver position is full-time and is suitable for applicants with varying levels of experience within commercial construction. Aptitude with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is an important qualification.
